If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Which is generally the case for most situations. But if, and only if you can do something much better, some change is better than no change, right?

Which brings us to Mulberry’s New Bayswater that has been given a quick makeover of sorts by current Creative Director Johnny Coca. And though I haven’t seen one in person as yet, this is what is known about it. For starters, it’s apparently more structured now, with ‘ears’ on both sides ala Céline’s Luggage (no surprises since his last job was designing bags and accessories for the French luxury house).

It’s also apparently more lightweight, with more compartments built into its body that would even allow one to slot an entire laptop into the larger New Bayswater that measures 45 cm across at its widest. You could also say it’s cleaner and more streamlined than its predecessor that was first launched back in 2003.

Currently available in 2 sizes, there’s the Regular (45 cm by 28 cm, shown above) and a much tinier Small (33 cm by 21 cm) which also happens to come with an additional shoulder sling as well. Priced from GBP795 and up, it seems (and very cleverly so) that while the bigger style comes in more classic colours (think Black, Oak andOxblood), the Small New Bayswater will be made available in fun hues like Canary,Candy and Dune.
